According to the article a worker at Peoplesoft fearing his near termination wrote to the CEO Craig Conway about his belief he was being discriminated against because of his race. The email reply: "I am not familiar with your specific circumstances, so I can't comment. But I would recommend reading any of the writings of Shelby Steele or J.C. Watts before blaming your circumstance on race." It might even be a good point, but my guess is that in retrospect CEO Conway might have wished for a time delay on his email program, allowing him to retract that one before it flew back through cyberspace.
