The long awaited proposed regulations from the Department of Labor to change the white collar exemptions will soon be released. Here is a report from the
Sun-Sentinel:. One of the ideas is to simplify the process, providing a bright line. Here's a quote as to what will happen: "The proposal would raise the salary cap to $425 a week, or $22,100 a year, and any worker earning less automatically would be required to receive overtime pay." There will be a chance to comment, but you can start seeing how this would impact you.
Update: According to BNA's Daily Labor Report, the regulations will be published on Monday, March 31. Details when they are released.
